What is an esthetician?
An esthetician, sometimes also referred to as a skin care therapist is a specialized technician trained and licensed in spa services such as aromatherapy, facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, waxing, and therapeutic body wraps and specialties such as Eyelash extensions and Eyebrow care. Estheticians focus on preventative care for the client’s skin via cosmetic products and education for the client.
On the other hand, a medical aesthetician works with a dermatologist or plastic surgeon and may assist the physicians with pre- and post-op care for their patients. This includes treatments for precancerous cells, restorative surgery, and provides help with skin care to patients.
